New Way to Order Reprints
Starting today, if you would like to order headshot reprints (beyond the prints included in your original package) you can just send us an email with the following information:
1. Your name
2. The filename(s) of the prints you want to order
3. The quantity and size of prints you want made
4. The address you want them shipped to
We will invoice you for the cost of the prints and order them from our lab. Turnaround time is generally three business days. After the prints arrive back at our studio in Troy and pass inspection, we will email you so you can pick them up, or if you prefer we can FedEx them to your address.
Some Background Information
Until recently, we encouraged clients to order reprints of their headshots either from the professional photolab of their choice, or through our online printing service, hosted by Zenfolio.
The problem is that the prints go directly to you and we don’t have an opportunity to view them and perform quality control checks. On the rare occasion where there is a quality problem, it puts our clients in the difficult situation of having to troubleshoot the problem — and we can’t be much help, because we didn’t place the order, and we don’t know what the final prints looked like.
To avoid this, we now recommend that you order prints through us directly. We will examine your prints when they come back to our studio to make sure they meet our stringent technical standards. In addition we are reducing the cost of prints slightly and offering a wider range of print options. Finally, to save time you can pick your prints up at our studio, or if you prefer we will ship them to you with overnight service via Fed Ex.
This means we no longer support printing of our images by other vendors. We still permit it — we will continue to deliver your images on DVD along with a usage license that gives you the right to make prints wherever you like, but this is with the understanding that any technical issues you encounter are between you and the lab you choose — we cannot be responsible for troubleshooting printing problems you might encounter with a third-party photo-lab.
We believe this change will result in better prices for you, less hassle and worry about obtaining quality prints, and it lets us ensure that nothing but the highest quality prints are delivered to our clients.
To reiterate — we still give you a usage license that lets you handle printing yourself — just be aware that when you do this, you’re on your own!
